Throughput Privacy Policy

Effective 11 October 2026

Throughput does not collect, transmit or sell any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party code. Nothing about you or your network is sent to the developer.

What Throughput reads

To draw its gauges, Throughput reads network statistics that macOS keeps for every network interface: bytes and packets sent and received, error counts, link speed, interface names and IP addresses. It shows them on your screen and keeps a short rolling history in memory. None of it is saved to disk or sent anywhere.

What stays on your Mac

Your preferences (the window's position, the display style and which interfaces to show) are stored locally on your Mac.

What Throughput contacts on the internet

Nothing. Throughput never makes a network connection of its own. It only measures the traffic your Mac is already sending and receiving.

Permissions

Throughput asks for no permissions. It does not need Location, Local Network or any other access.

Price

Throughput is free, with no in-app purchases. It is distributed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple's handling of App Store information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

Throughput collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, a change would only ever describe a new feature's behaviour, never new data collection without saying so here first.
